We took the family to see the newest installment today and we all loved it. This movie has the whole action and effects package of the modern comic book superhero movies, and even better yet, is able to draw on the essence of the Superman editions before.
This is not just a remake, it is the next chapter in the story. It picks up 5 years after the Christopher Reeves movies left us off. It re-introduces the next generation of fans to the back story, briefly, which was just enough without stalling out on that. We see familiar characters in Clark’s family, Lex Luthor, and the Daily Planet crew of Jimmy and Lois and the boss. And there are new editions, of which I won’t ruin for you.
It moved right along and didn’t feel like 2 hours 40 minutes. I don’t think many movies are worth paying box office fare for, but this is one that is worth it, without a doubt. This is a great movie.
